Looking to kick start your piano playing?
What will you gain from this course?
- how to unravel the dots – that is to say……. how to read music
- Independent use of your fingers on both hands
- how to play a piece from memory
- how to improvise
- how to have the confidence to work out the dots
Having access to a piano to practice on between lessons is preferable and to benefit from the course, participants should commit to a minimum of 30-40 minutes practice at home per week.
This course will be a practical programme of learning to play, improvise, interspersed with discussion and exercises developing knowledge of how to understand and read music.

The course introduces the basics of playing the piano and the foundations for learning to read music and understanding the theory of music.
